Dr. Toni Velarde, head of the Animal Welfare Program, has been elected a new member of the scientific panel of animal health and welfare of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
The panel gives scientific advice on all aspects of animal diseases and the welfare of food-producing animals during breeding, transport and slaughter, and also analyzes the impact of the conditions and treatment of animals in both animal and human health.
