LocalNutleg project annual meeting in Rennes

On 3 and 4 May, the partners of the Localnutleg project held their annual meeting in the city of Rennes, France. The leaders of each working group presented the main results of the project so far.

The French National Institute for Agricultural, Food and Environmental Research (INRAE), one of the project partners, offered a culinary workshop, where the LocalNutleg team prepared savoury and sweet recipes with chefs from the Rennes culinary centre using ingredients related to the project (pulses and nuts) and other ingredients. The resulting dishes were tasted by all participants.

The meeting was attended by the project coordinator, Ingrid Aguiló, as well as Alexia del Hoyo and Jordi Ortiz, from IRTA's Postharvest programme.

IRTA coordinates the work of the 20 research centres and partner companies of the LocalNutleg project, which since 2021 has been working to promote new products that recover the intake of pulses and nuts, staple foods of the Mediterranean diet. This project is funded by the European PRIMA initiative and will run until 2024. More information on its website: localnutleg.eu
