On 28 April, the IRTA La Ràpita centre was visited by a delegation from the Government of Nova Scotia (Canada) to learn about the research carried out by the Aquaculture and Marine and Marine and Continental Waters.
The institutional delegate of IRTA in Terres de l'Ebre, José Miguel Campos, was in charge of giving an initial presentation of the Institute. Afterwards, the head of the Aquaculture programme, Enric Gisbert, and the head of the Marine and Continental Waters programme, Jorge Diogène, explained the research and knowledge transfer tasks they carry out. They also learned about the innovation carried out by the researcher Neil Duncan and the head of Aquaculture business development, Cristóbal Aguilera.
The Canadian delegation was represented by Kimberly Forsyth, Director of Business Development, Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and April Home, Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
The visit ended with a tour of the centre's facilities, in a day that was a good opportunity to establish new relations and links with Canada.
