In a context of decreasing water availability, the horticultural sector faces the challenge of improving irrigation efficiency and incorporating new water sources. Addressing this challenge requires the modernisation of irrigation systems and the development of tools to manage the agronomic quality of reclaimed water.

The REGGENERADA project aims to transfer tools to improve irrigation water management in the Baix Llobregat area through the use of commercially available digital technologies on demonstration farms. Its main objectives include the deployment of sensors for continuous monitoring of irrigation water quality, improving irrigation efficiency in artichoke cultivation, and implementing these technologies in a coordinated manner across farms.

The actions will be carried out in collaboration with the sector and its stakeholders, with the aim of improving water use efficiency and developing tools to support irrigation management using reclaimed water. Altogether, this will contribute to a more sustainable horticulture in the Baix Llobregat area.
