Economic losses resulting from the storage and development of fungal diseases and pathologies represent one of the main concerns of the fruit sector worldwide, as they represent considerable economic losses. The world of postharvest disorders is a complex world that encompasses a very numerous set of different disorders and diseases, involving multifactorial causes and that in many cases have a very similar symptomatology. In fact, the identification and classification of these disorders is a major problem that requires years of experience and/or external advice. For this reason, having the necessary tools to identify the main physiopathologies and fungal diseases produced during citrus postharvest can be very useful for the technical staff working in this field.
The aim of this demonstration activity is to respond to the needs of technicians and professionals working in citrus postharvest, and to help them to identify problems related to physiopathologies and rots that may appear in their daily professional practice, both in the plants and in public bodies or companies related to the fruit sector.
Activity financed through Operation 01.02.01 Technology Transfer of the Rural Development Programme of Catalonia 2014-2022.
