IRTA is made up of a thousand professionals spread across the Catalan territory. Our researchers accumulate extensive knowledge about the agri-food sector, with which we work closely. We have hundreds of projects underway to support the sector in the face of the important challenges it currently faces, related to climate change, new technologies or sustainability.
Because we are aware of the social value of the knowledge we have and generate, linked as it is to the basic need to feed ourselves , we work every day to transfer that knowledge to society:

From the Corporate Communications Office we send, on average, more than one press release or press call each week, and annually we respond to hundreds of requests from the media. IRTA researchers appear more than 1,600 times each year in Catalan, national and international media.
