Development of an on-farm rapid test for prognosis and diagnosis of porcine polyserositis

The general goal of this proposal is the valorization of our previous observations showing differential characteristics in the nasal microbiota of animals with higher predisposition to suffer polyserositis after weaning. These characteristics included different abundances of the pathogens G. parasuis, S. suis and M. hyorhinis, whichhere we plan to explore their use as predictors of predisposition to disease using nasal swabs, non-invasive samples. In addition, we will take the opportunity to apply the same tests in lesion samples from piglets with polyserositis for differential diagnosis.
