Joaquim Segalés and Natàlia Majó receive recognition from President Puigdemont for their participation in the Ambassadors of Catalonia program

On Monday December 19 two IRTA-CReSA researchers and professors of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the UAB, Dr. Natalia Majó and Dr. Segalés, attended a ceremony for the recognition of the Program Ambassadors of the Catalan Tourism Agency and the Network of Ambassadors Catalonia Trade & Investment. The reception, carried out at the St. George Hall of the Generalitat de Catalunya Palace, was held by the President of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont, who awarded a badge with the shield of the Government to all members of these programs. The aim of the Programa Ambassadors de Catalunya of the Catalonia Convention Bureau (CCB) is the support of ambassadors and their organizations in order to create new business opportunities and generate knowledge in the Catalan territory. An ambassador is a country recognized professional in his field (university, scientific, medical or economic), an active member of associations, institutions and national and international colleges. Through its professional networks, ambassadors can attract conferences and business events in Catalonia and play a key role and visibility to position the destination. Dr. Majó and Dr. Segalés are part of the board of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists and the council of the European College of Porcine Health Management, respectively, associations which regularly organize international conferences and potentially may draw one to Catalonia. In fact, the European Symposium of Porcine Health Management, organized by ECPHM and IRTA-CReSA will be held in Barcelona during 2018.
