NBS3 Flow Cytometry Platform

The IRTA-CReSA Cytometry Platform offers researchers, research groups and companies the possibility of carrying out advanced flow cytometry analyses with infectious samples that require a high level of biosafety, thanks to NBS3 biological containment facilities.

Flow cytometry is a multiparametric analysis technique that allows the physical and chemical characteristics of cells or particles in suspension to be measured individually using a laser beam. Its applications include:

  • Identification and detailed characterisation of cell populations.
  • Separation of populations or individual cells of interest.
  • Monitoring of immune response.
  • Viability, proliferation and apoptosis assays.
  • Purification and isolation of recombinant viruses.
  • Phagocytosis assays.

 

Our equipment: FACSDiscover S8™

 

 

The platform features a FACSDiscover S8™ spectral separator cytometer, a state-of-the-art instrument that combines spectral cytometry with real-time cell imaging thanks to CellView Image technology.

This integration allows you to obtain, in a single analysis:

  • Information on fluorescent parameters associated with their cellular distribution.
  • Analysis of highly complex antibody panels.
  • Morphological details of each cell, providing greater confidence in the interpretation of results.
  • High-purity and high-precision cell separations for populations of interest.
