Use of Genomics for the improvement and protection of new plant varieties.

1) Organize dialogue tables with representatives of the agricultural sector to gather their needs and explain how Genomics can provide new solutions. Therefore, it is necessary to know the degree of information they have about plant genomics and its use in agriculture. It will be held in the four provincial demarcations.
2) Give two training talks on the use of Genomics. Two locations will be chosen, depending on the needs of the sector, agreed upon in the dialogue tables to reach as many attendees as possible.
3) Organize a technical conference at the Center for Research in Agrigenomics (CRAG-IRTA) where techniques for genetic improvement in situ and the applications of the use of genomics to improve, identify and protect new plant varieties will be taught.
4) Create audiovisual training material by making two videos and two infographics containing this information, one focused on the improvement of horticultural species and the other on varietal identification to strengthen the rights of breeder and prevent fraud. This material will allow to continue the training project during the years following the project.
