The activity of the Biosystems Sustainability Group (SOSBIO) aims to contribute to the environmental sustainability of the agri-food sector through advanced scientific research, technological innovation and knowledge transfer activities. Specifically, the SOSBIO Group is concerned with developing new knowledge and technologies in the field of sustainable management of by-products and organic waste (agricultural, livestock, industrial and municipal waste), providing a comprehensive view of the problems and cross-cutting technological solutions, environmental impact assessment, and the application of the most appropriate management tools in each case. To achieve this objective, SOSBIO researchers work transversally with all the actors in the sector. In summary, the Group's activity is focused on finding new ways to promote the reuse and valorization of biological resources within the new paradigm of circular economy and bioeconomy.
