The general objective of this innovative pilot project carried out by an Operational Group is to fine-tune tree and irrigation management under new microclimatic conditions. In this way, the aim is to achieve an action protocol in the two most important cherry-producing regions.
This general objective can be broken down into the following specific objectives:
– Effect on the microclimate generated in cherry plantations.
– Effect on the cherry crop cycle, especially intensity and phenology of flowering and ripening and fruit self-life, and the presence of twin or double fruits.
– Study of different systems for folding and unfolding plastic nets.
– Anticipation of phenology with the use of biostimulant products to break dormancy, with modified microclimatic conditions.
– Effect on water requirements and irrigation management under modified microclimate conditions.
