MAIRES Aplication of Marker Assisted Introgression and Resynthesis in peach.

In this project we plan to establish a complete collection of NILs (in homozygosis and in heterozygosis) developed from the cross between Texas (almond) and Earlygold (peach) cultivars, and to evaluate it for some fruit quality and metabolic traits, to demonstrate its utility in the dissection of quantitative variation. Finally we propose to extend this strategy to other Prunus species, including wild peaches.
