“Farm-in-a-plate” – developing the first biobank of farm animal organoids as an alternative to animal experiments in infectious disease research

In this project, we willtackle theseissues by developing the first comprehensive organoid biobank tailored to infectious disease research.We will focus on generating organoids from three tissues with particular importance for infectious diseases, namely gut, lung, and nose. Together, these tissues constitute the main routes of entry/transmission as well as sites of pathogenicity.
