The research group (ENDEMIQUES) is a consolidated research group, continuation of the 2017 SGR 886 group, which includes all the researchers working on endemic diseases of animals at IRTA-CReSA. This research group focuses on research and technology transfer activities regarding viral and bacterial endemic infections and diseases affecting livestock. Main activities include pathogenesis and control of bacterial infections, bacterial diseases with public health impact, antimicrobial resistance and viral evolution and emerging viruses. Connection with public health is done through the study of zoonotic pathogens, and indirectly through surveillance of antimicrobial resistances and the study of alternative products to antibiotics. Besides, microbiota composition is also focus within this research group.
