Development of new antimicrobial and antiparasitic compounds and of tools for assessing their efficacy and safety

To develop new alternatives to the conventional antibacterial and antiparasitic “drugs” against some animal pathogens that cause diseases of high impact in livestock production and aquaculture
To develop tools to assess the efficacy of those new alternatives on target animals in experimental farms
To develop in vivo, in vitro and in silico infection models as tools to assess the efficacy of those new alternatives in order to reduce the need for animal testing
To improve the clinical efficacy of existing antimicrobials
