Acronym: NEW4ALMOND
We aim at reaching a sustainable improvement of the crop with this multidisciplinary approach and therefore, to provide farmers and the almond industry with higher standards of production and quality yields, by reducing to the essential minimum the use of plant products that are harmful to human health and the environment. Specifically, the overall objective of this subproject is to develop and implement new integrated strategies for the control of various almond diseases, based on the use of biological control agents, the characterization of almond cultivar susceptibility and its genetic basis, and these of epidemiological models in fungicide programs.
