The project aims to develop a biosensor to determine the amount of copper ions available on the surface of the plant to ensure that copper-based treatments are maintained at optimal levels for the effective control of fungal and bacterial diseases through copper treatments. This biosensor needs to be cheap, fast, reliable and compact, so that it can be used in the field as a tool for on-farm advice and management of crop protection treatments.
