Basic research to study interactions between pathogens and the host microbiome

The overall objective of OO7-Action 1 is to investigate the pathogens - holobiome dynamics in major pathobiotic systems by integrating multiple levels of complexity, including pathogens, the transmission of acquired antimicrobial resistance (AMR), microbiomes, immune system mechanisms, host genetics and physiology, the environment, and anthropogenic factors acting on those. This will be achieved by focusing mainly on the lunggut axis and through multidisciplinary studies involving cutting-edge in vivo, in vitro, ex vivo, and in silico approaches.
