LABELS

The past two of july, at the IRTA center of Sant Carles de la Ràpita, it has released into the open sea in front of the Alfacs Bay, in the Ebro delta, 5 adults of sea bass (Argyrosomus regius) of about 20 kg of average weight. These specimens have been located at IRTA Aquaculture facilities since 2008, where the entire cycle of this fish known as sea bass has been investigated.

Thus, researchers at IRTA have been able to investigate and acquire knowledgement about their reproduction, larval cultivation, fattening stage, various aspects of their nutrition, the pathologies that may affect them and how their immune system responds. The released specimens are mature breeders that will be added to the natural population that is already in the Mediterranean Sea.
