IRTA has signed a collaboration agreement with Alimentaria Exhibitions to co-organise the Food & Hospitality Startups (F&HS) programme, the space dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation within the framework of the Alimentaria 2026 trade fair, which will take place from 23 to 26 March 2026 at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona.

Therefore, with the aim of promoting innovation, talent, new business models and the entrepreneurial ecosystem, we will select a group of startups and innovative companies to participate in the most disruptive exhibition areas of the fair. We will showcase the most transformative initiatives in the world of food, beverages and equipment for catering, hospitality and communities.

· Location: Halls 4-6

IRTA will be responsible for organising and promoting this space, as well as coordinating networking activities and the B2B area, which will enable startups, established companies and business angels to meet.

In addition, one of the central points of the programme will be the F&HS Awards innovation competition, which will recognise the most disruptive startups at Alimentaria and Hostelco. The jury, chaired by IRTA’s director general, Josep Usall, will be made up of multidisciplinary experts from the worlds of research, business and investment. The most innovative startup and the one with the greatest potential will be chosen from among the 14 finalists.
