CREDA

CREDA-UPC-IRTA responds to the need of enhancing a catalan public research and development system focused on the Agri-Food sector. This centre is promoted by two public institutions: the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Research and Technology, Food and Agriculture Institute (IRTA), that have been traditionally compromised with research and teaching in different areas. 

The centre is still young but very dynamic, and has de porpouse of becoming, propeled by the effort and enthusiasm of all its staff, a reference centre in the Agro-Food and rural development area in Catalonia, Spain and on an international level. 

CREDA has de will of cooperating with both public and private sector, to contribute to increase agriculture and ranching competitiveness, updating of structures, a more sustainable use of natural resources, strengthen the countryside and a better understanding of the relation between society and territory. Likewise, in an increasingly complex and uncertain economic environment, we expect to become, through rigour and professionalism, an important scientific information transference centre capable of helping in the decision making process to the different agents that participate in the food value chain.
