Proposes a holistic investigation on the crosstalk between immunity and energy metabolism aiming to identify regulatory networks, candidate genes, and causal genetic variants modulating immunocompetence and production-quality traits. The objective of the project also includes functionally validating the identified polymorphisms, with the long-term perspective of selecting the most suitable genetic variants to be included in porcine selection programs.
