Adaptation of the ciguatera in Spain and improvement of its management

The main objective of CIGUAADAPT is to adapt our society to the establishment of ciguatera as a persistent situation, in order to protect the consumer, to advise the fishery production sector and to improve the management of ciguatera. WP1 of the project evaluates the impact of climate change on the occurrence of Gambierdiscus spp. in the Mediterranean islands close to the Iberian Peninsula, the BI and CI. WP2 will focus on the characterization of the ecophysiology and understanding of the dinoflagellate and suspatron communities, as well as the description through multifactorial analysis of the toxin production process.
