Microbiome and genomic analysis in apple germplasm towards broadening geneticresources to breed for resilient varieties

AppleBIOME will contribute to obtaining pre-breeding materials to reach the long-term goal. AppleBIOME relies on a unique and already provenpowerful tool for apple breeding: the well-established Apple REFPOP collection. This project reunites again a consortium with a trajectory of successfulcollaborations that takes a step forward to provide solutions to the problems derived from the eroded diversity and high demand of chemicals incommercial apple orchards by implementing in the analysis not only the environment but also the management component.
