<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rita and the Best Bread in the World<\/em> is a new illustrated story aimed at children aged 6 to 8. It was created as an outreach and awareness-raising initiative within the framework of the AgriRegenCat<\/strong> <\/a>and AgriCarboniCat<\/strong> <\/a>projects on Regenerative Agriculture<\/a>. These projects are led by researchers Georgina Alins<\/strong> and Maite Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> from IRTA Fruitcentre<\/strong> and IRTA La R\u00e0pita<\/strong>, and are funded by the Climate Fund of the Government of Catalonia<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The book tells the story of Rita, a young girl who visits her grandparents in the countryside and discovers the traditional process of making bread. Through this experience, the story introduces concepts such as soil care, biodiversity, and the importance of sustainable farming practices, while highlighting the valuable role of farmers. Using accessible and engaging language, the book aims to foster children’s connection with the origins of food and the land that nourishes us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

As the projects come to an end, the storybook forms part of the outreach and awareness-raising actions of these two research programs, which aim to promote more sustainable agricultural models. The goal is to provide healthier, safer, and locally sourced food by improving soil health and enhancing carbon capture capacity. This initiative reflects IRTA\u2019s commitment to bringing scientific knowledge closer to society, while contributing to the environmental education of new generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
