{"id":58529,"date":"2019-04-04T08:46:55","date_gmt":"2019-04-04T06:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.irta.cat\/noticia\/two-irta-researchers-selected-to-form-part-of-the-eip-agri-focus-groups\/"},"modified":"2024-11-06T09:35:38","modified_gmt":"2024-11-06T08:35:38","slug":"two-irta-researchers-selected-to-form-part-of-the-eip-agri-focus-groups","status":"publish","type":"noticia","link":"https:\/\/www.irta.cat\/en\/noticia\/two-irta-researchers-selected-to-form-part-of-the-eip-agri-focus-groups\/","title":{"rendered":"Two IRTA researchers, selected to form part of the EIP-AGRI focus groups"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irta.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/EIP-Agri_banner.jpg\" class=\"fancybox irta-lightbox-bridge\" data-fancybox=\"irta-images\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.irta.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/EIP-Agri_banner.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27731\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Two IRTA researchers have been selected by the European Commission to form part of the focus groups of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eip\/agriculture\/en\/focus-groups\" target=\"_blank\">European Innovation Partnership \/ Agriculture (EIP-AGRI)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firstly, Marta Cerd\u00e1, from the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Animal Health Programm (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irta.cat\/en\/animal-production\/animal-health\/\" target=\"_blank\">Animal Health Programm<\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irta.cat\/ca\/produccio-animal\/sanitat-animal\/\" target=\"_blank\">e<\/a>, has been selected for the focal group on <strong>reducing the use of antimicrobials in poultry farming<\/strong>. Secondly, Montserrat N\u00fa\u00f1ez, a researcher from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irta.cat\/en\/grup\/integral-management-of-organic-waste\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Organic Waste Integral Management Programme<\/a>, is the expert who will join the <strong>soil salinisation<\/strong> group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EIP is the\nEuropean Commission&#8217;s mechanism which has promoted, among other initiatives,\nthe creation and financing of innovative projects within the agricultural scope\nof the regional and national operative groups, an area in which the IRTA has\nbeen very actively involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Producers,\nadvisers, scientists and other agents from the sector with knowledge and\nexperience of the above topics were invited to the last Focus Group call, for\nwhich the IRTA submitted profiles in three of the five groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is a focus group?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of\na focus group is to explore innovative and practical solutions to problems and\nopportunities and to capitalise on and share experiences gained from relevant\nprojects. The group analyses and documents the research results as well as the\nimplications for future activities that may help to solve practical problems\nwithin the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These problems\nmay be related to production, transformation, consumption, transport and other\nfields.
