The company has received support from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accio.gencat.cat\/en\/accio\/agencia\/coneix-accio\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACCI\u00d3<\/a> and the participation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irta.cat\/en\/centre\/irta-cresa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IRTA-CReSA<\/a> and the Public Health Agency of Barcelona in the pilot phase. It\u00a0<span id=\"more-3310\"><\/span>already offers a reliability of between 80 and 90% and that identifies mosquito species that can transmit diseases such as the tiger mosquito.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_26416\" style=\"width: 760px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26416\" class=\"wp-image-26416 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.irta.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Trampa-Irideon.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"420\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-26416\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">One of the traps (source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accio.gencat.cat\/ca\/accio\/premsa-comunicacio\/cercador-premsa-actualitat\/article\/20192701_Irideon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACCI\u00d3<\/a>)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>According to Encarna\u00e7\u00e3o, Irideon currently \u201chas identified the most dangerous mosquito species, such as the tiger mosquito, which can transmit diseases, such as the one caused by the <strong>Zika<\/strong> virus.\u201d \u201cOur device works as a \u2018cloud\u2019 library where all the data identifying these species is collected and we are working to improve it and incorporate more species of mosquitoes present around the world,\u201d he says.
