The general objective of the project is to demonstrate the feasibility of implementing a rapid test kit (RES-KIT) for bacterial quantification, identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility test (AST) with our innovative microfluidic technology.
This general objective can be divided in the next sub-objectives:
- To develop a prototype of the instrument and the cartridge capable of performing the assay automatically from a real sample.
- To demonstrate the feasibility of scaling up (mass produce) all
the components of the system - To perfom a clinical evaluation of the kit with real cases and a “usability” test in view of its commercialization.
Cystitis in pets will be the first application to explore.
