The main objective of this proposal is to integrate data from the microbioma with -omics and phenotype information for the molecular prediction of efficiency and robustness in porcine, focusing on characters of food efficiency, innate immunity, behavior and response to stress.
The project also aims to study the genetic basis of intestinal microbiome variation, to analyze the interaction of the microbiome with the host genetics and with the traits studied, and to identify predictors and potential microbial biomarkers associated with these phenotypes.
