Survival of fattening and replacement dairy calves is very important to ensure the viability of farms. Several research studies conclude that the impact of colostrum management during the first hours of life is very important for their survival having a significant long-term impact. The majority of these studies have been performed in the United States, Canada, and other countries of the European Union, but few have been made in our country.

The main objective of this demonstration project is to compile the strategies that have been described that have the most impact on the viability of the animals and carry them out in livestock farms in our environment. Fattening and dairy calves technicians will collect data and monitor the proposed strategies to further show the farmers the important impact of animal management the first hours of life.
