Objectives of the project:
- Characterization of the biological cycle, ecology and population dynamics of the insect species potentially transmitting Xylella fastidiosa in the different agroclimatic conditions of Spain
- Evaluation of the transmission potential of the different vectors to susceptible crops and taking into account the subspecies of the pathogen and the correlation between the vectors present and the incidence of the disease in the crops
- Development of strategies for integrated control of vector insects and Xylella fastidiosa dispersion: field and laboratory trials with insecticides, attractants and repellents, alternative crop and host plant management, predator use and exclusion measures
