Informació professional:

Marta da Silva Lopes is the head of the Sustainable Field Crops Program at IRTA since 2018 and supervises more than 30 staff members in three field experimental stations. The program has important collaborative actions with the local and National Ministry of agriculture, private companies and competitive grants both National and International to achieve sustainable production of more than 5 crop species. Previously, she has worked for a decade at CIMMYT (International Center for Maize and Wheat Improvement) in Mexico and Turkey as a Wheat physiologist. Major research goals are: to increase the yield progress of crops through breeding and sustainable agronomic practices; mechanisms of adaptation to climate change in cereals particularly to drought and heat. She has more than 30 publications in International peer-review journals and h=22 (Scopus).
