Influence of the restriction and the contribution of phosphorus in the diet of female pigs on tissue growth evaluated in vivo by computerized tomography, bone resistance and sensory properties of meat

Starting date: 02/10/2014 End date: 02/06/2018
Programme: Product quality

The general objectives of the project are:

Determination of the evolution of the tissue composition of the pig according to the food strategy using Computerized Tomography (TC) in live pigs to predict the characteristics of the channels and optimize the final product (experiment 1).

To study the effect of the phosphorus level of the diet on the morphological and chemical characteristics of the bone to optimize the use of the food phosphorus, reducing the excretion and the problem of poises and lameness associated with possible phosphorus deficiencies (experiment 2) .
