GENOMICS & BIOTECHNOLOGY

The Genomics & Biotechnology programe works on research of plants genomics and in vitro culture of horticultural and fruit growing species through:

Use of molecular markers for varietal identification and marker assisted selection of horticultural, fruit growing and ornamental species.

Fruit growing and horticultural trees genomics.

In vitro cultivation techniques for obtaining diplohaploid lines in horticultural and ornamental species

Genetic transformation in rice, tobacco, melon, tomato, pepper and grapevine.

Genetic improvement of ornamental species.

Technology transfer to the private sector
