Professional experience

I am involved in the world of the SHELLFISH DISEASES for 10 years now. My experience in this field has been acquired in relevant research institutions working in that area such as the European Reference Laboratory on Shellfish Diseases (IFREMER-La Tremblade, France), the National Dutch Reference Laboratory on Shellfish and Fish Diseases (CVI-Lelystad, The Netherlands), but also home institutions as IRTA and Universitat de Barcelona. Nowadays, I am focusing on O.I.E listed pathogens, such as the parasites Marteilia refringens, Perkinsus olseni, Bonamia spp., etc., as well as other less studied shellfish dpathogens as Rickettsia-like (bacteria), potentially affecting the Catalonian shellfish production.

 Educational background

- PhD in Biology (Universitat de Barcelona, 2007)

- MSc  in Zoology (Universitat de Barcelona, 2004)

- BSc in Biology (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 2001)
